The ZAMBA Environmental Wall System (EWS) is a fully integrated HVAC system offering complete control over indoor environment, all while discreetly fitting into the wall.

EWS Model N is fully customizable and packed with patented, proven technologies. It includes an ultralight, sound-dampening expanded polypropylene (EPP) exterior and integrated, highly efficient heating/cooling/ventilation modules, condensate elimination system, and smart sensor array. With an 8-inch unit depth, EWS Model N is able to be integrated inside walls. EWS Model N is built to Passive House Institute standards.

Innovative Technologies

Particulate Matter Sensors

These sensors measure the concentration of dust particles in the air. They can trigger HVAC systems to increase filtration or reduce outdoor air intake when high levels of dust are detected.

Humidity Sensors

Humidity sensors help in maintaining optimal indoor humidity levels. This not only aids in comfort but also in reducing respiratory irritation caused by dry air.

Temperature Sensors

These are standard but crucial for ensuring that cooling systems operate efficiently, especially when external temperatures rise due to blocking of natural cooling effects like wind.

Air Quality Sensors

Beyond particulate matter, these sensors can detect other pollutants like sulfur dioxide or nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde, VOC etc, prompting the HVAC system to adjust its operation for better ventilation and air purification.

Pressure Sensors

Useful for maintaining positive pressure inside buildings to prevent dust infiltration.

Presence Sensors

mm wave sensors or otherwise known as radars are a modern technology that senses human presence as opposed to movement as traditionally used by PIR sensors.

High Efficiency Filters

HEPA & MERV-13 filters trap a significant amount of dust and sand particles.

UV-C Light Installations

UV-C lights help in breaking down organic particle pollutants, enhancing the overall air quality.

Bipolar Ionization

Continuously purify air, reduce particulate matter, and potentially neutralize pathogens.

Advanced Demand Control Ventilation

Demand Control Ventilation can adjust outside airflow based on real-time sensor data, optimizing energy use while maintaining air quality.

Heat/Energy Recovery Ventilators (HRVs/ERVs)

These systems recover heat (sensible or sensible and latent) from outgoing air to pre-condition incoming air, useful in maintaining energy efficiency during normal operation and extreme conditions.

Humidification Systems

Maintaining relative humidity in a space within 40% and 60% is imperative to minimize negative impacts on the health and wellness of occupants.

Condensate Elimination

Unique to ZAMBA EWS, condensate elimination system evaporates condensate into the outgoing exhaust air stream, eliminating the needs for investing in condensate drainpipes and their maintenance.

Accurate Airflow Measurement

Using calibrated Pitot tubes inside EWS, the ZAMBA controls system accurately measures incoming outdoor airflow and outgoing exhaust air flow and adjusts their flow rates accordingly to maintain positive pressurization. This is particularly important during sandstorms or in high-rise buildings to mitigate what is known as “stack effect”.

Applications

EWS Model N is ideally suited for both new and retrofit high-rise multifamily residential, hotel buildings and dormitories. It can also be used for retrofitting existing high-rise hydronic buildings, eliminating the need for costly piping and insulation retrofits, making it a cost-effective approach for decarbonizing existing buildings.
